Prompts That Kill is a party card game made by Chris Canfield in Santa Clarita, California. This page says exactly what this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep your email so we can tell you when the game launches, and we use Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure our ads. We never sell your information for money.

What we collect

If you join the kill list: your email, your name if you give it, the page or ad you came from, your browser type, and the date. It is stored in a private storage account we control, and we use it only to email you about Prompts That Kill: the launch, new cards and playtests. When you sign up, The Machine sends you a confirmation email.

If you just browse: this site sets no cookies of its own. The free print-and-play files download without asking for anything. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when the page loads.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

We run ads on Facebook and Instagram, and use the Meta pixel on this site to see whether they work. The pixel tells Meta which of our pages you visit, along with your browser and device details, and sets Meta's own cookie. When you join the kill list, we also tell Meta that a signup happened, with a scrambled (hashed) version of your email, your IP address and your browser, so Meta can match it to an ad you saw. Meta never receives your email address in readable form. Meta uses this under its own privacy policy, including to show our ads to people like you.

Do not sell or share my personal information

We don't sell anyone's information for money. California law does count sending data to Meta for ads as "sharing", and you can opt out of it:

Kickstarter

If you back the game on Kickstarter, your pledge, payment and shipping details are handled by Kickstarter under their privacy policy. We receive what we need to deliver your reward, such as your name, email and shipping address.

How long we keep it, and removing it

We keep your kill-list details until you ask us to remove them. To be removed, reply REMOVE to any email from us, or write to privacy@promptsthatkill.com.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and opt out of sharing. Write to privacy@promptsthatkill.com. We'll answer within 45 days, and using these rights never changes how we treat you.

Age

Prompts That Kill is for players 17 and up. This site isn't meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this site starts collecting something new, this page changes first and the date above changes with it.
